"Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him?"   Saith the Lord, Do not I fill heaven and earth" saith the Lord. Jeremiah 23:24

We have become accustomed to seeing video cameras in places of business.  You see them on the side of buildings, scanning the parking lot.  You walk into a lobby and see yourself on a screen.  Managers use them to monitor the activities of their employees.  Officers of the law have them mounted on the dash of their cars or on their uniforms.  One article said, "It's been a very good thing because when incriminating criticism comes against an officer, the video reveals the true story.  It also holds the officer to a greater accountability because he knows his conduct is being recorded."

Suppose a video camera were attached to you, recording your speech and activities so that someone responsible - like your parents or pastor - could review it regularly.  Would that make a difference in your life?

Although video cameras catch many things, they have their limits.  They can't capture images behind a barrier or around a corner.  They can record only the outward actions of people, not their motives.  God is not limited by barriers and is never out of hearing distance.  He can see into the very core of our being and is recording the intentions of our heart.

To the casual and halfhearted , take warning.  You may be able to perform acceptably when men's cameras are pointed at you, but God sees you even when you think nobody is watching.  To the faithful, take courage.  "Let us not be weary in well doing" (Galatians 6:9).  Your sacrifice may go unappreciated, your good intentions may be questioned, and your name may be slandered.  But God sees everything, and He will reward His own.

God's all seeing eye is a comfort to the saint and a terror to the ungodly.
