The last few years have revealed the extent to which Satan has gone in an all-out assault on the gospel. One of his most effective tactics in this "politically correct" age has been the attempt by popular culture opinion shapers to brand as old-fashioned anyone who has views that agree with God's Word. Ridicule of the Bible as a "Bronze Age book written by goat herders," and other such like derogatory insults are in rogue among the "educated and enlightened" intelligentsia.
Don't be fooled; Satan's greatest nemesis is the Word of God. It exposes him and his slimy tactics. It foretells his doom. So he must attempt to discredit it at all costs.
The gospel has the power to change lives. It gives us the power to defeat evil and negate Satan's attempt to drag us into hell along with him. Don't let the devil make you ashamed of the church or what it stands for. He wants you to think holiness and modesty of dress is out of style. He will discount the importance and necessity of righteous living, and attack anything about you that derives from the word of God.
But look at the results in the lives of those who follow him: divorce, perversion, heartache, shattered lives, hopelessness, broken homes, shattered dreams. He is a deceiver from the getgo.
If he can make you ashamed of the gospel he can weaken your faith to the point you will be defenseless against him. The gospel is what saves us. And that frustrates him to no end, because he has come to kill, steal and destroy. If you want to overcome him, get into the gospel wholeheartedly. Absorb the scriptures. Live it, Breathe it, Believe it. You will be glad you did.
