"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever"

"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever."

These simple words, found in Hebrews 13:8, form what may be the greatest and most effective rebuttal to the secular evolutionist philosophy which is the basis of modern thought and education in the world today.

Evolution encompasses more than the biological aspect of believing mankind evolved from a common ancestor.  It is a school of thought rooted in direct opposition to the word of God.  It espouses that, to be "normal" all things must constantly be in a state of change, including morality.  Anything remaining constant is considered a mortal threat to this post modern way of thinking.  Hence, in their view,  the Bible must be attacked and discredited, which in turn clears the way for man to define morality for himself according to his own tastes and desires.

Of course this flies in the face of reality, which is synonymous with truth.  Jesus said, "I am the truth."  (John 14:6)  The scriptures teach that truth is objective; that is, it exits independent of man's opinion.  The evolutionist, postmodern philosophy of relativism says that truth is "subjective," in other words, it is whatever we perceive it to be, thus what is true or real varies from one person to another.

Of course, this philosophy is intellectually vacuous, and is merely a feeble attempt by man to avoid giving an account someday to a power higher than himself.  The bottom line of scripture is, "It is appointed unto man once to die, and after this the judgment."  (Hebrews 9:27)

God is going to one day judge every person according to our works.  This will determine where we spend eternity.

I choose to believe the word of God over some intellectually bankrupt, self invented humanist philosophy.  How about you?

Praying for you,

Pastor Andrew Ritchey
