At Apostolic Faith Tabernacle we have made a statement that we desire to be a "throwback church."  What that means is, we intend to resist and reject the tsunami of trendy notions that are threatening to inundate the church world.  We have purposed to be oblivious to pressure to conform to worldly fads in worship, music, and doctrine.  A throwback church is one that conforms to the pattern found in Ephesians 2:20.  "And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone."  The very next verse lets us know that church is to be "an ho;y temple unto the Lord."  A church cannot be holy if its people follow after popular culture.  Media opinions should have no effect on the church.  Being different should not cause us to feel inferior or intimidated.  The church is supposed to be different from the world.  God's church has been a holy church from its inception.  And Satan hates holiness.  That realization alone should inspire us to seek holiness.

A throwback church does not happen by accident.  It is a result of people committed to the principle of Jeremiah 6:16.  "Thus saith the Lord, stand ye in the way, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way,  and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls."

Praying for you,

Pastor Ritchey
